October 2nd, 2015 | General
Bethlehem, or more specifically the entire Lehigh Valley region, has made Huffington Post’s list of “10 Most Beautiful U.S. Towns to Visit in the Fall.”
On Wednesday, the online website released its pick for 10 towns that it said offer “stunning leaves, family-friendly accommodations and activities for all ages.”
Also on the list are Stowe, Vt.; Woodstock, N.Y.; Beacon, N.Y.; Newport, R.I.; Vail, Colo.; Hood River, Ore.; Port Townsend, Wash.; Avalon, Calif. and St. Simons Island, Ga.
Bethlehem is touted for being a city filled with museums, restaurants and shops, and noted for fall activities such as ghost tours and harvest festivals. The article also mentioned the proximity of the Poconos and, in particular, Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway that goes from Port Clinton into downtown Jim Thorpe, offering beautiful colors and scenery of the Lehigh Gorge State Park.
It also touted Crayola Experience in Easton and Da Vinci Science Center in Allentown as great destinations for the kids. And it recommended the Hyatt in Bethlehem as a place to stay while visiting.
