Calling all creative crows! The Scarecrow Showdown is back, and it’s going to be a harvest HOOTdown in Historic Downtown Bethlehem!

Unleash your inner artist and craft the most scarecrow-tastic creation you can imagine. Think spooky, silly, or something totally out-of-the-patch!

The gauntlet is thrown! Main & Broad Streets will be crawling with incredible scarecrows all October long, and YOU get to decide the winner! Head over to visithistoricbethlehem.com to cast your vote for your favorite fall masterpiece.

Pick up your Scarecrow Kit

After purchasing your kit online, you may pick it up starting Monday, August 12th through Monday, September 9th. The Bethlehem Chamber Office is open Monday through Thursday, 9:00AM – 4:00PM, 74 W. Broad ST. Bethlehem, PA 18018, SUITE 240. You will receive your Scarecrow number at this time.

Check-in your Scarecrow

Drop off your Scarecrow anytime from 9/16 through 9/23, from 9:00am to 4:00pm. You may drop off your Scarecrow after hours. Please be advised our building is locked on Sundays and locked from 8:00pm through 7:00am on weekdays. Please, be sure your number is prominently displayed, and text a picture of your Scarecrow and number to Ty Versocki at (610) 739-3385. Drop off address is also at the Bethlehem Chamber Office, 74 W. Broad St. Suite 240, Bethlehem, PA 18018.

Contest timing

Scarecrows will be out on Main & Broad Streets beginning on 10/1 and live on our website for voting starting 10/1. All contestants will receive a link to vote via email to share with friends and family.

Voting

Voting will be in real-time from 10/2 through 10/29. Additional votes will continue to be collected through 10/30.

Winner Announced

The winner will be announced on our Visit Historic Bethlehem Facebook and Instagram pages on 10/31.

Terms & Conditions

This is a family friendly event. The Downtown Bethlehem Association reserves the right to deny any entry that is offensive, lewd, inappropriate, or demonstrates anything controversial. Further, any Scarecrow that is constructed in poor taste or is deemed offensive will be disqualified. All entries must use the wooden structure provided – no exceptions. Refunds for disqualifications based on this criteria will not be issued.

All Scarecrows must adhere to the style guide found in the kit.  No blinking lights or anything with motion. Use materials that will withstand the weather, i.e. wind & rain. We recommend using plastic bags and newspaper to stuff your Scarecrow. Stuffed hosiery will also work to shape your Scarecrow.

Your Scarecrow must be sturdy and materials used to decorate your Scarecrow must be secured onto the base provided. The Downtown Bethlehem Association will not be responsible for any damaged Scarecrow or for any items that have been stolen. In the event of vandalism, we will make every attempt to assist in repairs that may be needed.
